Beef Tips and Gravy


  • 2 lbs Bar 3 Ranch beef tips
  • 3 Tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup consumé and red wine (50/50 mix)
  • .25 cup soy sauce
  • .25 cup Worcestershire
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 packet dry brown gravy mix (.75oz)
  • 1 cup water


  1. -In a large skillet, heat oil over high heat. Sauté the onion until almost translucent.
  2. -Add the thawed beef tips and cook on high heat until meat is browned on all sides, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. -Once browned evenly, pour all liquid ingredients into the skillet. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. -Bring to a boil and then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 1.5-2 hours.
  5. -Meanwhile, combine the gravy mix with 1 cup water. Mix thoroughly and stir into meat mixture.
  6. -Bring to a boil, stirring frequently until slightly thickened.
  7. Serve over your favorite noodles or pasta.
